A modern rustic wedding by Emma

We chose to get married in the Cotswolds as it is close to where I grew up and somewhere that we both love to spend time. The ceremony took place in a beautiful church near Stroud. It was the most special part of the day for me. All our guests were invited to the ceremony and the evening reception, as most people were travelling a long way and we wanted only our closest friends and family there.

Blanka Dorrell at Whiteleaf Bridal showed me a wide variety of dresses that she designs herself, and offered to customise them in various ways. I really like the idea that I was getting something really original, and when I tried on my dress I loved it! I wanted something with an unusual neckline and I loved the simplicity of the rest of the dress. We agreed to add pearls along the entire length of the back of dress.

Emily and Oliver's Summer Fete Wedding

Emily and Oliver's wedding

Emily & Oliver were legally married at Brighton Town Hall with only their immediate family in attendance. Then two days later they celebrated with all their friends & family Ridge Farm in Surrey. They started the day with an outdoor ceremony (not currently legal in England, hence the register office ceremony.)

“I first went to Ridge Farm a couple of years earlier to a music festival called Firegathering organised by a friend of my sister, they had got married there themselves,” Emily told me. “It came to mind as a venue to look round and when I took Oli he feel in love at first sight. A big advantage was we could have the venue for 4 days! We have always enjoyed the day after a wedding as the much as the wedding day itself, all ice has been well and truly broken and its just fab to carry on the party when you have all your loved ones together.”
